Join us as a Lead Operational Analysis Engineer at RAF Coningsby, where you will work with cutting-edge technology and collaborate with skilled engineers to support Typhoon mission systems for the RAF. You will be part of an embedded team within 41 Test and Evaluation Squadron, leading analysis activities, developing and assuring software tools, supporting flight test programmes, and providing subject matter expert input to ensure safe and effective capability development.
Responsibilities
- Provide subject matter expert support to Typhoon mission and avionics systems
- Lead systems integration and flight test analysis activities
- Develop and assure software tools for data processing, visualisation and reporting
- Apply verification and validation techniques to support airworthiness and safety
- Define and support test plans and operational analysis activities
- Supervise and mentor engineers within the analysis team
Qualifications
- Experience delivering technical analysis and problem solving across the engineering lifecycle
- Proficiency in software development for engineering applications such as Python, MATLAB or C++
- Background in systems engineering or aerospace engineering
- Experience working in safety critical or regulated environments
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Strong communication skills and ability to present technical findings
Essential qualifications
- Relevant STEM Bachelor’s Degree
- Eligibility or willingness to obtain UK Security Clearance
Additional information
This role is 37 hours per week based at RAF Coningsby. Set working times are 08:00-16:30. Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites will be expected. QinetiQ operates state-of-the-art facilities across the UK that focus on defence, security and technology innovation. These facilities enable QinetiQ to conduct a wide range of research, testing and development activities that support both military and civilian applications helping to advance technology and support national security.
