The Role As an IT Engineer, you will have a role that is out of the ordinary taking part in a novel programme building critical deployable IT Infrastructure within the Defence environment placing you at the heart of the modernisation of Defence\’s deployable IT estate. Day-to-day, you\’ll install and maintain computer hardware and software systems that are built using Windows, VMware and Cisco products. You will respond to technical support calls and react to ITSM support application whilst proactively monitoring complex environments. Your responsibilities will include: * Set up and install new virtual machines, networks and software following work instructions to change components * Install and configure operating systems, anti-virus software, other applications and install updates and patches to software applications * Diagnose and fix network problems, hardware, software faults and manage backups of servers in case of data loss * Work within a team and keeping a record of issues and faults along with any solutions for future reference * Maintain network connectivity and accurately record changes Essential experience of the IT Engineer: The ability to work on site in a small team providing incident resolution, fault finding and root cause analysis Experience working/administrating virtualised environments such as VMware, Vcenter or similar virtualised environment…
