Overview

The UK & Ireland Sales team are based throughout the UK and support customers within different geographic regions. To strengthen our Sales team, we are looking for a (Senior) Account Manager to drive and grow sales within the Molecular Diagnostic (MDx) and Research markets across the North West and West Yorkshire area of the UK.

The (Senior) Account Manager will work within the regional team to act as a portfolio specialist, shaping and aligning customer requirements with the most suitable QIAGEN solutions. The (Senior) Account Manager will drive both pre-sales and post-sales activities, building strong relationships and delivering first class experience for our customers. Key responsibilities:

  • Identifying and interpreting customer requirements, and aligning these requirements with QIAGEN’s extensive portfolio of instruments and products.
  • Building customer trust and relationships by driving customer satisfaction and increasing QIAGEN’s competitive advantage. Assist in the development and maintenance of reference customers.
  • Budget achievement through the growth of existing accounts and the identification and development of new customers within the Midlands UK geography.
  • Effective weekly/monthly planning of field based activities. Reporting and forecasting via the customer relationship management system (CRM).
  • Maintain and expand market knowledge including market and technology trends, commercial awareness of competitors, research and clinical networks, latest patient guidelines and testing recommendations.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science, PhD or equivalent experience.
  • 2-3 years relevant lab/working experience eg. infectious diseases routine testing, clinical genomics, research or similar would be an advantage.
  • Desirable: experience selling life science and diagnostic solutions into the research, NHS and/or clinical markets.
  • Consultative selling skills and a customer focused approach.
  • Knowledge of relevant markets and competitive landscape – Research, Molecular Diagnostics and Clinical Patient testing.
  • Located within the North West and West Yorkshire area with a willingness to travel to customer sites 80% of the time (full driving license essential). Key accounts are located in Liverpool, Lancashire, Manchester and Leeds.
