Join QIAGEN’s UK & Ireland Sales team and play a key role in advancing sample to insight solutions within Life Science research. Covering a strategically important territory – including major accounts in Birmingham, Nottingham, Leicester, Sheffield, Cardiff and Warwick – you will drive growth by aligning customer needs with QIAGEN’s industry‑leading solutions. You will act as a trusted partner to customers, aligning their scientific workflows and challenges with QIAGEN’s industry‑leading portfolio of consumables, assays and instruments. Owning the full commercial cycle, the role combines scientific credibility with commercial impact, directly supporting cutting‑edge research programmes and long‑term customer success.
Your tasks:
- Achieve sales targets through strategic growth of existing accounts and proactive development of new business across the territory, focusing on the academic and biotech sectors.
- Develop a deep understanding of customer workflows, challenges and requirements, translating these into tailored QIAGEN solutions across our product and instrument portfolio.
- Support customers throughout the sales cycle and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction, building trust and developing long‑term relationships by providing the best possible support and service.
- Complete structured weekly/ monthly field activity plans, ensuring accurate reporting, pipeline management and forecasting within the CRM.
- Manage and negotiate contracts, working closely with research laboratories and procurement teams to close sales.
- Maintain and expand research market knowledge – including life science technology trends, commercial awareness of competitors, and latest scientific findings – to position QIAGEN as a trusted partner.
Your profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences; PhD or equivalent laboratory experience preferred.
- Strong technical foundation and hands‑on experience in molecular biology workflows such as DNA/RNA purification, PCR, qPCR, digital PCR and Next Generation Sequencing (NGS).
- Relevant experience in the handling of complex sales and selling capital equipment desirable, with a demonstrable understanding of business practice in the Life Science industry and knowledge of relevant markets.
- Commercial mindset with the ability to develop and execute structured territory or account plans while prioritising urgent tasks when required.
- Committed and dependable team player who can collaborate with different teams and colleagues within QIAGEN.
- Based in the Midlands area, with willingness to travel to customer sites 80% of the time (valid driving license required).
