Join QIAGEN’s UK & Ireland Sales team and play a key role in advancing Molecular Diagnostics (MDx) across microbiology, virology, and infectious disease markets. Covering a strategically important territory – including major accounts in Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dublin – you will drive growth by aligning customer needs with QIAGEN’s industry-leading Sample-to-Insight solutions. As an Account Manager, you will act as a trusted portfolio specialist, shaping and aligning customer requirements with QIAGEN solutions. You’ll own the full commercial cycle – from opportunity identification to post-sales support – ensuring an exceptional customer experience and contributing directly to improved patient outcomes.

Your tasks:

  • Develop a deep understanding of customer workflows, challenges and requirements, translating these into tailored QIAGEN solutions across our MDx product and instrument portfolio with a focus on microbiology, virology, and infectious disease applications.
  • Build strong, long-term relationships to increase customer satisfaction and secure QIAGEN’s competitive position.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of reference customers.
  • Achieve sales targets through strategic growth of existing accounts and proactive development of new business across the territory.
  • Complete structured weekly/monthly field activity plans, ensuring accurate reporting, pipeline management and forecasting within the CRM.
  • Maintain strong diagnostic market knowledge – including clinical guidelines, emerging technologies, competitor landscape, and testing trends – to position QIAGEN as a trusted partner.

Your profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences; PhD or equivalent laboratory experience preferred.
  • 2–3 years’ hands-on experience in infectious disease diagnostics, syndromic testing, molecular workflows, or similar laboratory environments would be an advantage.
  • Desirable: experience selling diagnostic solutions into the NHS or clinical laboratories.
  • Consultative selling skills and a customer focused approach.
  • Knowledge of relevant markets and competitive landscape – Molecular Diagnostics and Clinical Patient testing.
  • Based in North England, Northern Ireland or Scotland, with willingness to travel to customer sites 80% of the time (valid driving license required).
