QHQ Ltd is a leading UK outdoor lifestyle brand based in Yorkshire, known for its exciting growth across retail channels and partnerships with established Highstreet retailers. The brand designs and develops all products in-house across mens, womens, childrenswear, and accessories, working with longstanding global suppliers to create high-quality products.
The role is a permanent position within the Product team as a Junior Designer, reporting to the Senior Designer and Head of Product. The successful candidate will be part of a small, tight-knit team, collaborating with Designers and Garment Technologists across all areas of the product range.
We are looking for someone with experience in an assistant or Junior Designer role who is ready for their next challenge in a growing brand and team. The role is hybrid, requiring 1 to 2 days in the Head Office in West Yorkshire, with the remaining days working from home. Ad hoc days in the office may be required depending on meetings.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct continual trend, customer, and comparative research to present ideas and identify key fabrics, colours, prints, and silhouettes for each season.
- Assist in creating commercial initial designs for the full product range to present to the Head of Product.
- Research and create all-over prints and graphics.
- Work alongside the design team and Head of Product to range plan each season.
- Assist in creating technical CAD packs including trim and fabric specifications for the technical team.
- Assist in the day-to-day running and organisation of the design department.
- Overseas travel for tradeshows, comparative shops, and possible supplier visits.
- Relevant experience designing mens and womens lifestyle products.
- Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills are essential.
- Some experience creating graphics and all-over prints is desirable.
- Good knowledge of fabric and garment construction.
- Ability to work well within a team and communicate confidently.
- Ability to manage own workload and work independently.
- Willingness to travel when required; a driving licence and own car would be useful.
The role is full-time, 8-5 Monday-Thursday and 8-1pm on a Friday, with 23+ bank holidays annual leave pro-rata. Employee benefit schemes include donation days, employee of the month, wellbeing giveaways, and new starter packs, all within a relaxed head office environment.
