Data Governance Project Manager (Contract β 14 months) London (Hybrid 2-3 days a week in the office). We are partnering with a leading private fund manager to appoint an experienced Data Governance Project Manager for a high-profile, long-term contract engagement. This role sits within a major data transformation programme focused on strengthening data governance, modernising data capabilities, and enabling long-term business value through trusted data.
You will take ownership of a defined project stream within a wider data strategy initiative, delivering end-to-end project management from initiation through to transition into business-as-usual. The role requires a hands-on project manager who is comfortable operating in complex, multi-stakeholder environments and can bridge business, data, and technology teams effectively.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the planning, delivery, and closure of a data governance-focused project stream
- Translate strategic data objectives into clear delivery plans, milestones, and outcomes
- Manage risks, issues, dependencies, budgets, and third-party suppliers
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including data, technology, and business stakeholders
- Maintain strong governance, reporting, and stakeholder engagement throughout delivery
- Contribute to continuous improvement across the wider change programme
- Proven delivery of data-related projects within investment or asset management
- Strong exposure to data governance, data platforms, or enterprise data initiatives
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Solid grounding in project delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid)
