A prestigious UK-based investment fund is looking to appoint a Project Manager to lead the successful introduction of new financial instruments, asset types and investment mandates. Sitting at the intersection of operations, change and the front office, this role is central to ensuring new investment and trading activity is delivered smoothly and accurately across the business. This is not a traditional project management role. We’re looking for someone who combines hands-on project delivery experience with a deep operational understanding of investment instruments and market setup in developed, developing and frontier markets. Whether it’s onboarding a new derivative, supporting sustainable bond mandates, or navigating emerging market access, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end process — from initial request to go-live.

The Role

  • Act as the key liaison between investment teams and operational functions for all new instrument, mandate, or counterparty setups
  • Coordinate the full onboarding lifecycle, including feasibility checks, stakeholder engagement, and delivery planning
  • Oversee project timelines, ensure testing is completed, and manage the transition to business-as-usual
  • Provide updates to internal governance groups and senior stakeholders, including investment leaders
  • Support improvements in onboarding processes and investment workflows, including across digital platforms
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and third parties to ensure seamless execution and risk-managed delivery

What You’ll Bring Must-Have Experience:

  • A background in investment change, project delivery, or onboarding within an asset manager, asset owner, or similar institutional environment
  • Proven experience coordinating the launch of new financial products, asset types, or mandates
  • Understanding of key financial instruments (e.g. fixed income, FX, derivatives) and how they are operationally structured
  • Familiarity with fund and mandate-level implementation, trading setup and internal approval processes
  • Ability to work across multiple teams and communicate effectively at all levels
  • A well-organised, proactive approach with strong planning and coordination skills
  • Experience working on emerging market setups or within complex regulatory environments
  • Exposure to sustainable investment implementation or similar thematic mandates
  • Prior background in middle office, investment operations or fund control before moving into change

This is a standout opportunity for a project professional who enjoys ownership, understands investment workflows, and wants to contribute to meaningful change in a long-term institutional setting. To learn more or apply in confidence, please get in touch.
