We are partnering with a private equity-backed organisation at a pivotal stage in its growth journey. With continued expansion through both organic growth and acquisition, the business is investing in the evolution of its data platform to support greater scale, governance and insight. As part of this, they are seeking to appoint a Lead Data Architect into a high-impact role with ownership of their Microsoft Fabric platform and overall data architecture strategy.
This is a senior, hands-on leadership position operating within a lean data function, offering significant influence across both technology and business leadership.
The opportunity
Reporting directly into the Group Head of IT and working closely with senior stakeholders including the CFO, CCO and Head of Transformation, this role will play a central part in shaping how data is structured, governed and leveraged across the organisation.
- Owning and evolving the Microsoft Fabric platform as the group’s core data environment
- Defining architecture standards, governance frameworks and scalable data models across the Azure ecosystem
- Designing robust data integration patterns, ensuring strong lineage, quality and control
- Enabling high-quality, curated datasets to support reporting, analytics and decision making
- Driving consistency in metrics, semantic models and reporting standards
- Leading a small but growing data capability, setting direction and best practice
- Acting as a key interface between technology and senior business stakeholders
This role combines strategic oversight with practical delivery and would suit someone comfortable operating in a relatively lean environment with significant autonomy.
About you
This opportunity is best suited to an experienced data architecture leader who combines strong technical depth with the ability to operate credibly at senior stakeholder level. You are likely to bring:
- Proven experience leading data architecture within Azure-based environments, with strong exposure to Microsoft Fabric
- A track record of designing and evolving enterprise data platforms and governance frameworks
- Strong data modelling expertise (dimensional and/or Data Vault) and advanced SQL capability
- Experience building secure, scalable data solutions with a focus on performance, control and cost optimisation
- Prior exposure to private equity-backed businesses or similarly fast-paced, evolving environments
