Part time (up to 32.5 hours per week over 5 days). Term-time only (38 weeks plus annual leave entitlement, deemed taken during school holidays). Salary: Scale 4 - SCP 7-11 – starting at SCP7 £26,403 pa pro-rata. (Pro-rata salary: £19,802 pa, approx. based on 32.5 hours per week).
Key Responsibilities
- Escort students to and from classrooms or other areas for reasons including removal from lessons.
- Support pupils to arrive at lessons and locate and escort pupils who are unaccounted for.
- Maintain high standards of student behaviour and work closely with members of the Pastoral Team to ensure safety and welfare of students when they are out of lessons.
- Communicate effectively with students aged 11-18 in a calm and controlled manner, transferring sensitive or complex information accurately and appropriately.
- Respond to unexpected problems and situations by adapting quickly and effectively to changing circumstances.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong communication skills with ability to work with young people 11-18.
- First aid qualification would be useful.
- Experience in working with or supporting pupils or small group advocacy experience desirable.
Requirements
- Enhanced DBS disclosure required.
- Other statutory clearance and reference checks with previous employers required.
