Role overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and driven Accounts Assistant to join our finance team and assist with daily accounting operations. The ideal candidate will handle financial transactions, ensure accurate record-keeping and support financial reporting. Candidates must be eager to pursue further studies and demonstrate a strong willingness to progress in their accounting and finance career. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth within a supportive environment.
Key responsibilities
- Allocate all receipts daily and investigate any unidentifiable items
- Reconcile bank statements to the system balance and post correcting items in a timely manner
- Assist in the preparation of month-end financial reports
- Generate charges on tenant and leaseholder accounts
- Prepare credit control reports
- Process supplier invoices in a timely and accurate manner
- Process weekly payment runs
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
- Liaise with suppliers regarding payment queries and disputes
- Carry out any other ad-hoc duties as requested by the Finance Manager
Skills & requirements
- Educated to undergraduate degree level
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders
- A proactive, solution-focused approach with a drive for continuous improvement
- Must have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom
