QED Legal is recruiting on behalf of a well-established regional law firm seeking a Commercial Property Solicitor to join its growing Commercial team in York. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and commercially minded solicitor looking to take ownership of a varied caseload within a supportive environment that offers both autonomy and structured supervision.
The successful candidate will manage their own caseload of commercial property matters, working under the supervision of senior lawyers while also having responsibility for more complex and high-value transactions as experience develops. The role offers exposure to a broad range of commercial property work and the opportunity to build strong client relationships while contributing to the continued growth of the department.
- Managing a varied caseload of commercial property matters from instruction through to completion
- Acting both independently and collaboratively within a wider team structure
- Advising clients on freehold and leasehold transactions, property transfers, and refinancing matters
- Handling landlord and tenant matters, including leases and renewals
- Acting on conditional contracts, development agreements, and related documentation (including overage arrangements)
- Drafting correspondence, reports, and legal documents
- Maintaining compliance with internal policies and case management procedures
- Managing client relationships and supporting the development of new business opportunities
- Supporting the wider firm through cross-departmental collaboration
- Ensuring matters are progressed efficiently, billed accurately, and in line with targets
Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 2 years’ PQE in Commercial Property
- Strong technical knowledge across a range of property transactions
- Ability to manage a busy and varied caseload with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication and client relationship management skills
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and organisational skills
- Commercially aware with an interest in business development
- A proactive, collaborative, and professional approach
- Ability to work to deadlines and manage competing priorities
