An established Yorkshirefirm is looking to add an experienced Legal Assistant/Conveyancing Assistant to its team, supporting a senior fee earner across plot sales and commercial property.
This is a genuinely varied and uniquerole, with approximately 50% of the position focused on plot sales/commercial property work, alongside 50% providing direct legal assistant and organisational support.
The role The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop experience across both plot sales and commercial property, with the two teams working closely alongside one another.
The conveyancing element could suit someone who has previously worked as a Conveyancing Assistant or Legal Secretary, while the wider role will involve providing hands-on support with documents, organisation and day-to-day administration.
Key responsibilities
- Supporting with plot sales and conveyancing matters
- Assisting with elements of file management
- Providing direct support to a senior fee earner
- Organising documents and workloads
- Working with Track Changes and amending/tweaking documents
- Assisting with dictated work
- General legal secretarial and administrative duties
- Helping to keep matters organised and progressing
- Working closely with the wider plot sales and commercial property teams
About you The firm is looking for someone with previous legal experiencewithin conveyancing, who is happy working in a dedicated assistant role.
You’llhave:
- Previous experience as a Conveyancing Assistant, Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organisational skills
- Good IT/computer skills
- Confidence using Word and Track Changes
- A proactive and practical approach
- The ability to manage your own workload
- A stable employment history and evidence of longevity in previous roles
Importantly, this isn't a fee-earning progression role, so it could be particularly well suited to someone who enjoys being a strong legal assistant and doesn't necessarily want to progress into a fee-earning position.
