London – Hybrid working 3 days in office
We're working with a leading international law firm looking to appoint an experienced Conflicts Lawyer to join its brilliant General Counsel team.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, influencing senior stakeholders and playing a key role in the firm's client onboarding process. You'll join a collaborative team supporting lawyers across multiple international jurisdictions while helping to protect the firm's commercial, regulatory and reputational interests.
The Role
As a Conflicts Lawyer, you'll advise on complex conflicts of interest and confidentiality issues arising from new business intake across a broad range of practice areas and jurisdictions.
- Analyse complex conflicts of interest and confidentiality issues
- Advise partners and senior lawyers on regulatory and ethical obligations
- Work closely with stakeholders to facilitate practical, commercial conflict resolutions
- Assess wider legal, commercial and reputational risks during client onboarding
- Act as an escalation point for complex conflicts matters
- Support the development and continuous improvement of conflicts policies and procedures
- Mentor and supervise members of the wider Conflicts and Onboarding teams
- Contribute to firm‑wide compliance and risk management initiatives
About you
- Qualified Solicitor or equivalent
- Strong experience advising on conflicts within a large commercial or international law firm
- Excellent understanding of the UK regulatory framework governing legal practice
- Ability to analyse complex issues while delivering clear, commercial advice
- Confidence in building relationships with partners and senior stakeholders
- Proactive, solution‑focused approach with exceptional attention to detail
