An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Residential Development Lawyer to join a large and highly regarded commercial law firm in Leeds as part of a nationally recognised Living Sector team. This is a chance to work alongside some of the most respected lawyers in the market on high-profile residential development projects for major PLC housebuilders, regional developers, affordable housing providers, land promoters and PRS investors. The team is continuing to experience significant growth and offers exposure to high-value, complex development matters within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

The Opportunity

  • You will advise on a broad range of residential development and strategic land matters including:
    • Conditional contracts and transfers
    • Option agreements and rights of pre-emption
    • Collaboration and development agreements
    • Residential-led mixed-use development projects
    • Affordable housing transactions
    • Strategic land acquisitions and disposals
    • Portfolio and settled stock matters
  • You will manage your own transactions while also supporting senior team members on larger, more complex matters.
  • The role also offers the opportunity to supervise junior lawyers and play an active part in client relationship management and business development initiatives.

About You

  • Applications are welcomed from solicitors with:
    • Experience in residential development, strategic land or commercial property work
    • Strong transactional and client management skills
    • The ability to manage files independently while working collaboratively within a wider team
    • A genuine enthusiasm for residential development and the Living Sector
    • Experience acting for housebuilders or affordable housing providers would be particularly advantageous, although strong commercial property lawyers looking to specialise further in this area are also encouraged to apply.
