Commercial Property Solicitor – 2+ PQE – Northampton, National Firm, variety of work – Hybrid Working
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Property Solicitor to join the Northampton office of an established national law firm.
This is a particularly attractive opportunity for a Commercial Property Solicitor who wants to maintain a genuinely broad practice, with exposure to everything from acquisitions and disposals through to landlord and tenant, secured lending, pension property transactions and more specialist land matters.
You will be joining an established Northampton office while benefiting from the resources, expertise and opportunities that come with being part of a much wider national firm.
The role
You will take responsibility for your own Commercial Property caseload, working directly with clients across a varied range of transactions.
Your work will include:
- Sales and purchases of commercial property
- Commercial landlord and tenant matters
- New leases and lease renewals
- Licences to assign, sublet and alter
- Lease surrenders
- Secured lending, mortgages and refinancing
- Sales of business assets
- Commercial property sold at auction
- Pension scheme property transactions, including in specie transactions
- Land Registry applications and first registrations
- Adverse possession matters
- Section 25 notices
- Acting for management companies
The breadth of the caseload is one of the real attractions of this opportunity.
This isn't a role where you will spend every day dealing with one particular type of transaction. You will have the opportunity to continue practising across the wider Commercial Property discipline, developing your technical knowledge and commercial understanding as your career progresses.
The firm
HCB is an established national law firm with a network of offices across England and Wales.
The Northampton office combines the accessibility and close-knit environment of a regional practice with the backing and resources of a much larger national operation.

The wider firm also offers expertise across areas including Corporate and Commercial, Litigation, Employment, Insolvency, Residential Property and Private Client, giving its Commercial Property lawyers access to specialists across complementary areas of law.
For somebody who enjoys working directly with clients but also wants the resources and opportunities associated with a national firm, it offers a very good balance.
