A well-established and highly regarded law firm is seeking a Conveyancing Assistant to join its busy Residential Property team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with at least six months' experience within a legal environment who is looking to develop their career in conveyancing while working alongside experienced property professionals.
Supporting a Partner and Licensed Conveyancer, you'll play a key role in ensuring residential property transactions progress efficiently while delivering an exceptional client experience.
The Role
As a Conveyancing Assistant, you'll provide comprehensive administrative and transactional support throughout the conveyancing process.
Working within a collaborative team, you'll assist with a varied caseload covering sales, purchases, remortgages and other residential property matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing day-to-day support to a Partner and Licensed Conveyancer.
- Opening new files and maintaining accurate records using the firm's case management system.
- Preparing legal documentation and correspondence relating to residential property transactions.
- Carrying out property searches and obtaining relevant documentation.
- Managing client onboarding, including ID verification and AML compliance checks.
- Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders, brokers and third parties to progress transactions.
- Responding to client enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
- Ensuring files remain organised, compliant and up to date throughout each transaction.
- Assisting with diary management, deadlines and general administrative duties.
- Providing reception cover on a rota basis when required.
- Supporting the wider team with additional duties as needed.
About You
- A minimum of 6 months' experience working within a legal environment.
- Previous experience supporting a residential conveyancing team.
- A good understanding of the conveyancing process from instruction through to completion.
- Knowledge of client due diligence, AML and compliance requirements.
- Excellent organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong communication and client care skills.
- The ability to prioritise a busy workload and meet deadlines.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Experience
- Knowledge of Land Registry procedures.
- Experience dealing with freehold, leasehold, remortgage and other residential property transactions.
- A broader understanding of residential conveyancing processes.
