Job Description
There are some areas of law where you can change jobs without really changing much.\n
\n
\n Construction isn't one of them.\n
\n
\n I'm looking to speak with Construction Solicitors in and around Newcastle, probably somewhere from around 2– 6 years PQE, who fancy getting their hands on genuinely good quality non-contentious work without disappearing into a huge national team where they're lawyer number 47.\n
\n
\n The work is broad.\n
\n
\n Developers, contractors, consultants, investors and funders. NEC and JCT contracts, professional appointments, collateral warranties and the wider documentation that sits behind major construction and engineering projects.\n
\n
\n If you've got predominantly non-contentious experience, great.\n
\n
\n If your background is a blend of contentious and non-contentious construction, I'd still very much like to have the conversation.\n
\n
\n What I particularly like about this sort of opportunity is the level it's pitched at.\n
\n
\n They're not looking for someone to arrive with a £500k following and magically build a department.\n
\n
\n Equally, they're not looking for someone who still needs their hand held through every piece of work.\n
\n
\n It's that nice bit in the middle where you can take responsibility, work directly with clients, develop your own profile and still have experienced people around you when you need them.\n
\n
\n There is flexibility around how you work and, importantly, proper scope to keep developing rather than simply becoming the person who churns through the same type of document for the next five years.\n
\n
\n Construction lawyers remain one of the harder groups to find in the North East, so if you're even vaguely wondering whether the grass might be greener, it's worth having the conversation before deciding it isn't.\n
\n
\n No hard sell.\n
\n
\n Give Neil Campbell at QED Legal a shout and I'll talk you through what I'm seeing in the Newcastle market.
