This is a really good opportunity for an experienced employment lawyer who wants proper autonomy without disappearing into a huge team.
I’m working with an exceptional Newcastle firm looking to add a 5+ PQE solicitor to its Employment team.
The work is broad. You’ll be dealing with a mix of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, including tribunal work, discrimination, whistleblowing, unfair dismissal, TUPE, restructures, redundancies, contracts, policies and day-to-day advisory work.
The client base is equally varied, with established businesses, owner-managed companies and organisations across a range of sectors.
There is plenty of direct client contact and, at this level, they want someone comfortable taking ownership of matters and building relationships in their own right.
You’ll also work closely with other teams across the firm, particularly Corporate, Commercial and Dispute Resolution, so there is good crossover on transactional and wider business matters.
This isn’t a role where you’ll be buried under layers of hierarchy. It’s a relatively compact team, so you’ll have visibility, responsibility and the opportunity to make a genuine impact.
They are ideally looking for someone 5+ PQE with a solid background in employment law and a commercial approach with clients.
If you enjoy the advisory side, the contentious side, or a proper mix of both, there is scope to shape the role around your strengths.
For someone who wants good quality employment work, direct client access and a team where senior lawyers are trusted to get on with the job, it is well worth a conversation.
Newcastle based. Good work. Good client exposure. Plenty of room to make the role your own.
