Job Description

Agricultural Solicitor | Rural Property & Agricultural Land | Malton
Location: Malton
Salary: £45,000 - £65,000
Full Time

If you’re an Agricultural Solicitor with 3+ years’ PQE and want to work with genuine farming and rural clients, this is an opportunity worth looking at.

This is a broad agricultural law role covering the property, tenancy and development issues that sit at the heart of rural businesses and estates.

You’ll advise on Farm Business Tenancies, Agricultural Holdings Act tenancies and grazing licences, alongside the sale and purchase of agricultural land, farms and rural businesses.

There is also plenty of scope to get involved in more complex development and funding work, including options, easements, overage and clawback agreements, as well as acting for lenders on agricultural security and funding matters.

The client base is particularly important here. You’ll be dealing with farmers, landowners, rural businesses and agricultural clients, building relationships over the long term and becoming a trusted adviser rather than simply handling individual transactions.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3+ years' PQE with solid agricultural law experience
  • Experience advising on agricultural tenancies and rural property
  • A strong understanding of agricultural sales and purchases
  • Experience with development agreements such as options, easements and overage
  • The ability to manage your own caseload and client relationships
  • A commercial, practical approach to advising rural clients
  • An interest in developing existing relationships and generating repeat business

You’ll be joining an established Yorkshire practice with a long-standing presence in the region and a strong reputation amongst its local client base.

There is also genuine investment in people here. Training and professional development are encouraged and supported, with a wider benefits package including a bonus scheme, enhanced annual leave, health and wellbeing benefits, long-service recognition and a cycle-to-work scheme.

Most importantly, this is a role where your agricultural expertise can actually be developed and your client relationships can grow with you.

If you’re an Agricultural Solicitor currently working across agricultural property, rural land, farming tenancies or rural estates and are considering your next move around Malton and North Yorkshire, I’d be keen to have a conversation.
