Job Description \n Risk & Compliance Manager London or Sussex \n Hybrid 2/3 days a week in office \n We're working with a leading regional law firm looking for a Risk & Compliance Manager to join its central management team. \n This is a broad, hands-on role covering professional risk, compliance, claims, complaints, insurance and regulatory matters, with significant exposure to partners and senior stakeholders. The role? \n β’ Managing and developing risk & compliance policies and procedures \n β’ Advising fee earners on SRA regulations, professional conduct, ethics and conflicts \n β’ Managing claims and complaints, including liaison with insurers, the SRA and Legal Ombudsman \n β’ Supporting the firm's PI insurance process \n β’ Carrying out compliance audits and identifying areas for improvement \n β’ Delivering training across the firm on risk and compliance matters \n β’ Coordinating the firm's Lexcel accreditation \n β’ Maintaining risk registers and root cause analysis \n β’ Supporting business continuity planning \n β’ Advising on regulatory requirements and changes in legislation \n β’ Supporting risk and compliance matters relating to M&A and mergers \n β’ Reviewing third-party terms of business \n β’ Working alongside IT, HR, Finance and other support functions on wider risk matters \n β’ Supervising a Risk & Compliance Assistant About you? \n 7+ years in legal compliance \n Strong knowledge of SRA regulations and professional conduct \n Experience managing professional indemnity insurance and claims \n Strong understanding of risk management within a legal environment \n Experience handling complaints and regulatory matters \n Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills \n Confidence working with partners and senior management \n Strong analytical, investigative and problem-solving abilities \n This is a great opportunity to join a truly supportive culture and team, working closely with the Head of Risk in a broad compliance role. \n Interested? \n Know someone great? \n \n ] \n
