This is an opportunity to join one of the East Midlands’ leading independent commercial law practices, recognised in the Legal 500 and known for delivering high-quality, commercially focused advice to ambitious businesses. As an employee-owned firm, there is a genuine shared sense of purpose and accountability, with many senior lawyers having progressed internally. The culture is collaborative, professional and forward-thinking, combining the quality of work you would expect from a larger practice with the accessibility and support of a strong regional firm. Based in modern offices in Leicester, the firm continues to grow steadily, offering stability alongside clear long-term career prospects.
The role includes:
- Managing a varied respondent employment law caseload covering both contentious and non-contentious matters
- Advising commercial clients on redundancy processes, TUPE, disciplinary and grievance issues, contracts of employment, policies and day-to-day HR advisory matters
- Conducting and managing Employment Tribunal claims from initial instruction through to resolution
- Working closely with the Head of Department and collaborating with colleagues across corporate and commercial teams on transactional employment issues
- Delivering commercially pragmatic advice aligned with clients’ business objectives
- Contributing to business development initiatives and strengthening existing client relationships
- Maintaining high standards of client care and compliance with risk management procedures
Looking for a role where you can genuinely influence clients’ strategic decisions rather than simply process files? This position offers exactly that level of responsibility. Ready to take the next step within a respected Legal 500-ranked team where progression is real rather than promised? This is designed as a growth role within a busy and expanding department.
Requirements:
- Qualified Employment Solicitor with 2–5 years’ PQE
- Experienced in managing a respondent caseload independently
- Confident dealing directly with commercial clients
- Strong communicator with the ability to provide clear, practical and commercially focused advice
- Collaborative team player who enjoys contributing to departmental development
- Motivated, career-focused and keen to build long-term progression within a growing regional practice
Benefits include:
- Salary from £40,000 to £65,000 depending on experience
- Clear progression opportunities within a Legal 500-recognised team
