A national firm's Health Commercial & Regulatory team is hiring an associate to senior associate solicitor to focus on data protection, information law and commercial work across the health and life sciences sectors, based in Leeds.
You will work at the sharp end of health data, covering clinical research agreements, novel uses of patient data, data sharing and processing agreements, international transfers and data breach response. These are clients whose data questions are genuinely novel rather than routine: NHS bodies, national health regulators, and the health tech developers and life sciences companies building on top of them.
The remit spans the full information-law picture, from privacy notices and subject access requests to Freedom of Information and the statutory powers sitting behind public-sector data use. Alongside that sits broader commercial drafting, including framework agreements, call-off terms, bespoke technology contracts and licensing arrangements.
Because the firm's health clients sit within a wider commercial base, you will also advise non-health clients of the firm wherever specialist data protection input is needed. That gives you a genuine information-law specialism with breadth beyond a single sector, in an area that is only growing.
The team is around 30 lawyers across the firm's UK offices, with a collaborative and transparent culture, real client responsibility from early on, and flexible working that is genuinely supported rather than nominal.
If you want data protection and information law work with real intellectual bite, and clients whose questions don’t come with off-the-shelf answers, this is a strong platform to build a career on.
