Job Description

Real Estate Solicitor | Commercial & Agricultural Property | NQ–2 PQE
Salary | Β£40,000 - Β£58,000
Hull

Not every NQ Real Estate opportunity gives you the chance to get involved in genuinely varied work and develop within a team known for investing heavily in its junior lawyers.

QED's client is looking to add an ambitious Real Estate Solicitor to its growing Hull team, with the opportunity to develop across both commercial and agricultural property and work alongside experienced lawyers on a broad range of transactions.

You'll be dealing with your own matters while also getting involved in larger and more complex work, giving you the opportunity to build your technical experience without being restricted to one narrow area of Real Estate.

The work will include:

  • Freehold and leasehold sales and acquisitions.
  • Higher-value and more complex transactions, including portfolio sales and purchases.
  • Commercial landlord and tenant matters, including leases and licences to assign, underlet and alter.
  • Section 106 agreements.
  • Site set-up work for residential development.
  • Agricultural and rural property matters.
  • Supporting Partners and senior fee earners on larger development and complex commercial property transactions.

The role would suit an NQ Solicitor or Real Estate Solicitor with up to around 2 years' PQE who wants to build a strong foundation for their career rather than simply find their next fee-earning position.

You don't need to arrive as the finished article.

This is a team where training and development are taken seriously. You'll have access to experienced lawyers, regular supervision and the opportunity to learn by working alongside people handling more complex transactions. The intention is to develop junior lawyers properly β€” technically, commercially and as client-facing solicitors β€” rather than simply give them a caseload and leave them to get on with it.

You'll need a solid grounding in Real Estate / Commercial Property, strong communication skills and the ambition to keep developing. A commercial approach to client issues is important, as is the ability to build relationships and contribute to the wider team.

You'll be expected to take increasing responsibility for your own matters as your experience develops, while having the support around you to ask questions and learn from more senior lawyers.

There is also exposure to commercial development and agricultural property, alongside the opportunity to support Partners and senior fee earners on larger and more complex transactions.

For an NQ or junior Real Estate Solicitor, that combination is the real attraction: quality work, experienced people around you and a firm that has built a strong reputation for developing the next generation of lawyers.

If you're looking for a Real Estate role where you can learn properly, get involved in good work and build towards becoming a confident, commercially minded solicitor, this is worth a conversation.
