Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm (1-hour lunch break)

About the Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Private Law Secretary / Legal Assistant to join a busy and well-established Family Department based in Bolton. Working within a friendly and supportive team environment, you will provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to solicitors, ensuring the smooth running of client matters and daily operations. Ongoing training, guidance and professional development will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing full secretarial support to a solicitor within the Family Department
  • Audio typing and document preparation
  • Arranging client appointments and meetings
  • Managing diaries and scheduling commitments
  • Handling telephone enquiries from clients and external agencies
  • Maintaining and updating case management systems and databases
  • Assisting with general administrative duties to support the department

Skills Experience Required

  • Previous experience working in a private family law secretarial or legal assistant role
  • Excellent typing and document production skills
  • Strong IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications
  • Professional and confident telephone manner
  • Exceptional organisational and time-management skills
