We’re currently working with a fabulous leading regional law firm with offices across Buckinghamshire and London looking for a Compliance Officer to join a well-established compliance function. This is a great opportunity for someone with solid compliance experience who enjoys being hands-on and working across a broad range of regulatory matters. You’ll be joining a structured Risk & Compliance function and will play a key role in supporting the firm’s ongoing regulatory and risk management obligations.
The role includes:
- Client onboarding and ongoing due diligence
- Reviewing AML documentation and supporting SAR reporting to the MLRO
- Source of Funds / Source of Wealth investigations
- Admin support for Credas / EIDV systems, including user access and queries
- Monitoring PEPs and sanctions alerts
- Managing and responding to complaints, including Legal Ombudsman matters
- Advising on GDPR and data protection issues
- Supporting regulatory audits and accreditations, including corrective actions
- Updating and maintaining policies and procedures
- Managing the Risk inbox (AML, conflicts, complaints, claims, data breaches, queries)
- Coaching colleagues through compliance processes
- Researching regulatory updates from the SRA / Law Society
- Maintaining sanctions lists and monitoring undertakings
- Supporting price transparency reviews
- Assisting with CQS accreditation and compliance training
- General risk and compliance administration
About you:
- 2–5 years’ experience in a law firm or professional services environment
- Strong understanding of AML and regulatory requirements
- Confident communicator with a practical, can-do approach
- Comfortable dealing with senior stakeholders
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
