Job Description
If you are a civil litigation solicitor who enjoys the challenge of resolving disputes and would like to develop your experience in contentious private client work, this opportunity is well worth a look.\n
\n
\n I’m working with an established Edinburgh practice looking to grow its Court team. There is an existing client base, a supportive environment and the opportunity to play an active part in shaping an expanding area of the business.\n
\n
\n You’ll take ownership of your own civil litigation caseload, providing clear, practical advice and representing clients in court. Experience of contentious private client matters would be particularly welcome, although this could also suit someone with a strong general litigation background who is keen to specialise further.\n
\n
\n Ideally, you’ll have up to ten years’ PQE and be confident progressing court actions with minimal supervision. You’ll bring sound knowledge of Scottish law, strong drafting and advocacy skills, and a proactive approach to moving matters forward.\n
\n
\n Just as important is how you work with people. Disputes involving family relationships, estates and succession can be particularly sensitive, so you’ll need empathy, good judgement and the ability to help clients feel informed and supported throughout.\n
\n
\n There is scope to build lasting client relationships, contribute ideas and help develop the firm’s civil litigation and contentious private client offering. As the practice grows, there will be opportunities to take on greater responsibility and progress your career.\n
\n
\n Alongside a competitive salary and bonus opportunities, the package includes five weeks’ annual leave plus five public holidays. Flexible and agile working can be agreed, subject to business needs. A driving licence is required.\n
\n
\n To find out more, please get in touch with Deborah Collier at QED Legal for a confidential chat.
