We’re working with a leading Scottish law firm to recruit an AML Analyst to join their growing compliance function. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong AML experience in legal, who wants to work in a firm renowned for their top quality global work.

The Role:

  • As an AML Analyst, you’ll play a key role in ensuring compliance with UK AML regulations by delivering robust client due diligence across a broad range of matters.
  • You’ll work closely with legal teams, providing practical, risk-based AML advice and supporting the firm’s regulatory obligations.
  • Conducting client and related party identification and verification using electronic and independent sources.
  • Performing PEP, sanctions and adverse media screening, assessing results and escalating where appropriate.
  • Reviewing and analysing complex ownership and control structures.
  • Undertaking source of funds and source of wealth checks for private and corporate clients.
  • Producing clear, audit-ready documentation of AML analysis and decisions.
  • Supporting CDD, risk assessments, monitoring and reporting activities.
  • Acting as a trusted AML point of contact for lawyers and internal stakeholders.
  • Escalating issues to the MLRO and wider AML team when required.

About You:

  • You’ll be detail-oriented, confident working with regulations, and comfortable making risk-based decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Practical working knowledge of the Money Laundering Regulations and LSAG guidance.
  • AML experience gained within legal services or professional services.
  • Experience using electronic verification and screening tools.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence working with senior stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
