For construction lawyers seeking sophisticated projects work without relocating to London, this opportunity offers the chance to build a career within a highly regarded international practice while remaining firmly based in Edinburgh. A leading global law firm is looking to appoint a 1β3 PQE Non-Contentious Construction Associate to join its established projects and construction team in Edinburgh. Known for advising on some of the most significant development and infrastructure mandates in the market, the team delivers commercially focused advice to an impressive portfolio of clients spanning the UK and overseas.
The practice advises a broad range of stakeholders involved in major projects, including developers, investors, contractors, funders, public bodies and specialist consultants. With strong links to City work and an integrated international platform, the team is regularly involved in complex and high-value matters that carry both domestic and cross-border elements.
This role offers exposure to a varied and engaging workload across sectors such as real estate development, energy, transport and infrastructure. You will advise on the full spectrum of non-contentious construction matters, including drafting and negotiating building contracts, consultant appointments, collateral warranties, guarantees and wider project documentation, while supporting clients through the structuring and delivery of major developments.
Rather than operating within a purely local practice, you will work closely with colleagues across the wider UK and international network, gaining experience on large-scale and technically challenging projects while continuing to develop strong foundations through high-quality Scottish and UK construction work.
The team environment is collegiate and ambitious, with a genuine emphasis on mentoring and professional development. Associates are encouraged to take an active role in client relationships and matter management from an early stage, supported by experienced partners and a collaborative cross-office team. The firm has an excellent reputation for investing in its lawyers and provides a clear framework for progression, training and long-term career growth.
This opportunity will appeal to a construction lawyer looking for premium-quality work, international exposure and a supportive culture, all within a leading Edinburgh-based team.
