We are currently recruiting for a Legal Cashier to join a busy Finance team within a well-established, award-winning law firm with offices across the North and a national client base. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is organised, detail-oriented and interested in legal finance or accounts. Previous Legal Cashier experience is desirable but not essential, as training can be provided for the right candidate.

About the Role

The successful candidate will support the Finance team by assisting with a range of legal cashiering and bookkeeping duties to ensure the smooth running of financial operations and to support the delivery of high-quality legal services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing daily client receipts and payments
  • Reconciling client and office bank accounts
  • Handling client billing and financial transactions
  • Ensuring compliance with SRA Accounts Rules
  • Processing client-related invoices and Legal Aid transactions
  • Transferring client funds where authorised
  • Maintaining accurate financial records
  • Supporting the team with general finance and cashiering duties
  • Remaining vigilant in relation to anti-money laundering and cyber security procedures

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong numeracy skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Good IT and typing skills
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Confident communication skills (face to face, telephone and written)
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Experience dealing with client enquiries
  • Legal accounts experience or ILFM qualification desirable but not essential
