Are you a senior Private Client lawyer with strong trusts and estate planning experience looking for a role where you can have genuine influence within an established department?
A highly regarded regional firm is looking to add an experienced practitioner to its Private Client team, with the appointment potentially being made at Partner level.
The Firm
The firm has an established presence across the West Midlands and a well-regarded Private Client practice advising individuals, families and business owners on complex wealth and succession matters.
Its Private Client expertise has received recognition in the Chambers High Net Worth Guide, while the department itself offers something equally important – stability. The team is friendly and supportive, with a number of lawyers having built long careers with the firm.
This position can be based in the Dudley / West Birmingham area, although there is also the option of working from one of the firm's other West Midlands offices.
The Role
You'll become a senior member of the Private Client practice, with your work focused particularly around trusts and sophisticated estate planning.
The role will involve:
- Advising high-net-worth individuals and business owners
- Complex estate planning
- Trust creation, administration and restructuring
- Inheritance tax and succession planning
- Advising families and business owners on preserving and passing wealth between generations
- Working alongside accountants, IFAs and other professional advisers
- Developing professional referrer relationships
- Helping shape the continued development of the Private Client offering
The firm is looking for somebody who can bring senior-level technical expertise while also becoming an important part of the future of the practice.
You
You'll ideally be around 8+ years' PQE with significant Private Client experience and a strong technical grounding in trusts and estate planning.
Full STEP membership would be highly regarded, as would established relationships with accountants, IFAs or other professional advisers.
You'll be comfortable advising high-net-worth clients and business owners and able to build trusted, long-term relationships with clients and referrers.
You could already be a Partner, or you may be a Senior Associate who is ready for Partnership now or wants a credible route to that level in the near future.
