I'm currently working with an established and growing law firm that is looking to add a Private Client Solicitor or Qualified Fee Earner to its team. This is a great opportunity for someone who is at least 3 PQE and looking for a varied role with plenty of client contact, responsibility and the opportunity to get involved in the wider development of the department.
The role involves:
- Having a varied Private Client caseload, including drafting and advising on Wills and LPAs.
- Managing both simple and complex estate administration.
- Advising on and drafting Lifetime Trusts.
- Managing your own caseload from instruction through to completion.
- Supporting and supervising more junior fee earners.
- Keeping clients updated throughout their matters and ensuring work is progressed efficiently.
- Taking responsibility for billing, time recording and credit control on your own matters.
- Building strong relationships with clients and external organisations.
- Getting involved in business development, networking and marketing across the firm's branches.
About you:
- You are a Solicitor or Qualified Fee Earner with around 3–4 years’ Private Client experience.
- You have solid experience across Wills, LPAs, estate administration and ideally trusts.
- You are organised, commercially aware and confident managing your own caseload.
- You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- You are comfortable using technology and working within a paper-lite environment.
- You enjoy being client-facing and building long-term relationships.
- You are keen to get involved in business development and networking.
- You can provide support and guidance to more junior members of the team.
The role offers flexibility around office base, although you will be expected to provide cover across the firm's Dewsbury, Wetherby, Selby and Horsforth offices as required. You need to be able to be in Dewsbury every Tuesday for team meetings.
