We're looking for an experienced compliance professional looking to take on a key role in shaping compliance culture within a growing regional law firm. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Compliance Officer / Legal Risk & Compliance Specialist to join a supportive team, where you’ll play a vital part in ensuring best practice across the business and have the scope to grow into a wider leadership role. They're looking for a true generalist to cover every aspect of compliance.
The Role?
- Developing and updating compliance procedures, processes, and controls
- Supporting firm-wide compliance with SRA standards, AML legislation, GDPR and risk reviews
- Conducting compliance checks, audits, and risk assessments
- Drafting and updating template letters, training programmes and policies
- Escalating issues and breaches appropriately, with practical recommendations
- Playing a key role in accreditation processes such as Lexcel, SRA and CQS audits
- Monitoring supervisory meetings, file reviews, and mentoring supervisors
- Providing clear, supportive compliance guidance to lawyers and leadership
About you?
- Experience in Compliance specifically in a law firm
- Open to a fee earner looking to make a move
- Strong knowledge of AML & SRA Codes of Conduct
- Excellent communication
- Highly organised, proactive and deadline-driven
