The Firm
A large and established regional law firm with a substantial presence throughout the West Midlands and surrounding areas.
The firm offers the resources, client base and cross-referral opportunities of a sizeable full-service practice, alongside genuine opportunities for senior lawyers to influence how their teams develop.
You'll join an established Employment offering advising businesses and individuals across a broad range of contentious and non-contentious matters.
The Role
Based in Coventry with hybrid working available, you will take on a senior position within the Employment team, combining technical work with leadership and business development.
Your role will include:
- Advising employers and employees across contentious and non-contentious Employment matters
- Handling complex Employment Tribunal claims and workplace disputes
- Advising on disciplinary, grievance, performance and absence matters
- Drafting and advising on contracts, policies and settlement agreements
- Advising on redundancy, restructuring and TUPE matters
- Developing relationships with existing clients and identifying opportunities to grow the Employment practice
You'll also play an important role in supporting and developing colleagues, sharing technical expertise and contributing to the wider strategy of the department.
This isn't simply a senior fee-earning position. You'll have the opportunity to influence how the team develops, build relationships across the firm's wider client base and play a meaningful part in its future growth.
You
You will be an experienced Employment Solicitor with the technical ability and commercial awareness to operate at Director level.
You should have broad experience across both contentious and non-contentious Employment law, alongside the confidence to advise businesses and senior individuals on complex and sensitive matters.
You'll also need:
- Strong client relationship skills
- Experience supervising, mentoring or developing other lawyers
- A commercial approach to Employment advice
- An interest in networking and business development
- The confidence to contribute to the strategic development of the team
You may already be operating at Director or Partner level, or you could be a Senior Associate who feels ready for considerably more responsibility and influence.
