An established and highly regarded law firm specialising in property transactions—particularly for investor purchasers in both domestic and offshore markets—is seeking a talented Compliance Officer or Compliance Manager to join their dynamic team in the West End of London.
This is a unique chance to step into a crucial role within a busy and respected firm that has been at the forefront of high-value residential and commercial conveyancing for over two decades. You will be part of a collaborative well-established team and have real influence on shaping compliance procedures and risk management practices across the firm.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain and oversee the firm’s compliance framework across AML, SRA, GDPR, and other regulatory obligations
- Conduct internal audits and file reviews; implement any necessary remedial actions
- Act as point of contact for compliance queries and regulatory changes
- Lead training sessions for legal and support staff on regulatory compliance matters
- Monitor and update the firm’s policies, procedures, and controls to ensure alignment with best practices and legal requirements
- Liaise with external bodies (e.g., the SRA, Law Society) as required
- Assist with CQS accreditation maintenance and lender panel compliance obligations
- Relevant compliance experience within a law firm.
- Strong knowledge of SRA Codes of Conduct, AML regulations, GDPR, and other relevant legislation
- Experience working in a conveyancing or property law context is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and educate stakeholders at all levels
- Organised, proactive, and capable of working independently with strong attention to detail
