  • The Firm

Ready for a role where your commercial property expertise can translate into real career progression, stronger client relationships and greater influence?

This is an opportunity to join a well-established West Midlands practice that combines a long-standing reputation with a modern, commercially focused approach.

With more than a century of history, the firm has developed strong relationships with businesses, developers, investors, landlords and landowners across the region.

Its approach is centred around providing practical, tailored advice, giving experienced solicitors the opportunity to become trusted advisers rather than simply handling transactions from instruction to completion.

The Cannock office offers a chance to establish yourself within a respected regional practice while working alongside specialists across a broader commercial legal offering.

With agile working and a collaborative environment, the role provides flexibility without compromising on client contact or professional development.

The Role

  • Take ownership of a varied commercial property caseload representing a diverse range of clients.
  • Advise on acquisitions, disposals and other commercial property transactions from initial instruction through to completion.
  • Manage commercial lease work, licences and related occupational matters.
  • Handle property finance transactions and advise on the property aspects of secured lending.
  • Work on more specialist arrangements, including options, pre-emption agreements and overage provisions.
  • Become a trusted point of contact for clients, understanding their businesses and providing advice that reflects their wider commercial objectives.
  • Strengthen existing relationships while actively looking for opportunities to introduce new clients and sources of work.
  • Work collaboratively with other legal specialists where property forms part of a wider corporate or commercial transaction.
  • Contribute your experience and commercial insight to the continued development of the department.
  • Have the freedom to develop your own professional network and profile within the Cannock market.
  • Benefit from an agile working model while being part of an established office environment.

What matters most to you in your next move: the quality of the work, the clients you work with, or the opportunity to build something of your own?

This role offers the chance to combine all three.

  • You
  • A Commercial Property Solicitor with 6+ years' experience.
  • A strong all-rounder with solid experience across commercial property transactions.
  • Able to take matters from instruction through to completion with confidence and appropriate autonomy.
  • Someone who enjoys getting to know clients and understanding the commercial drivers behind their decisions.
  • Experienced in advising property developers, investors, landlords, landowners and business owners.
  • Comfortable handling negotiations and providing clear, commercially sensible advice.
  • Interested in developing business as well as managing your existing workload.
  • Proactive in identifying opportunities to expand client relationships and generate additional work.
  • Confident representing the firm with clients and external professional contacts.
  • A collaborative colleague who can contribute positively to the wider team.
  • Ambitious about progressing your career and increasing your influence within a successful commercial property practice.
  • Someone who wants their contribution to be recognised and valued.

Benefits

  • £40,000–£80,000 salary, depending on experience.
  • 8% employer-only pension contribution.
  • Private healthcare insurance.
  • 34 days' annual leave, inclusive of Bank Holidays and the day following Boxing Day.
  • Fee Earner Bonus Scheme.
  • Firm-wide Bonus Scheme.
  • Client Introduction Bonus Scheme.
  • Birthday day off.
  • Agile working.
  • Professional development, training and mentoring opportunities.
  • The opportunity to grow your client portfolio and professional network.
  • A broad commercial property workload with exposure to a variety of clients and transactions.
  • Collaboration with experienced specialists across the wider practice.
  • Scope to increase your responsibility and play an active part in business development.

Could your next role be the one that gives you the platform to turn your experience into something bigger?

If you're ready to take greater ownership of your clients, develop new business and build a rewarding career within an established regional practice, this could be the opportunity to drive your success.
