A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Private Client Solicitor, Private Client Partner, or Head of Private Client to take ownership of an established but growing Private Client department within a highly regarded, multi-service law firm in Greater Manchester. This is not a standing start. The department has been successfully established over the past 12 months by an experienced Private Client Solicitor who has built a strong client base and excellent foundations. Due to unforeseen personal circumstances, they have had to leave the firm, creating an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious senior lawyer to step into a leadership position and continue the department's growth.
The firm is recognised for its modern approach to legal practice, supportive culture and exceptional flexibility. You'll benefit from hybrid working with up to four days per week working from home, allowing you to achieve an excellent work-life balance while leading and developing the department.
The Opportunity
This role would suit an experienced Private Client Solicitor, Senior Associate, Legal Director, Private Client Partner, or Head of Private Client looking to progress their career within a forward-thinking law firm. You will inherit an existing client base while playing a key role in expanding the department, developing junior team members and helping shape the future direction of the Private Client offering.
The Role
As the successful Senior Private Client Solicitor / Partner, you will:
- Manage a varied caseload of Wills, Probate, Estate Administration, Trusts, Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs), Inheritance Tax Planning and Court of Protection matters
- Continue developing and growing an already established Private Client department
- Build lasting relationships with new and existing clients
- Supervise, mentor and develop junior solicitors and support staff
- Implement and improve departmental processes and procedures
- Work closely with the firm's wider teams to maximise cross-referral opportunities
- Contribute towards the strategic growth of the business
Candidate Requirements
To be considered, you should have:
- Qualified Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive or equivalent with 8 years' PQE
- Strong technical experience across Private Client law, including Wills, Trusts and Probate
- Experience managing complex, high-value Private Client matters
- Previous leadership, supervisory or management experience
- Commercial awareness with the ability to develop existing client relationships
- A proactive and collaborative approach to business development and team leadership
