A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Housing Disrepair Solicitor, Fee Earner, Paralegal or Legal Assistant to join one of Manchester's fastest-growing specialist litigation firms. Based in modern offices in the heart of Bolton, the firm offers an outstanding level of flexibility, requiring employees to attend the office just one day per week, with the remainder of the week worked remotely. The Role:
- Case Management: Manage your own caseload of claimant Housing Disrepair matters from initial instruction through to settlement or trial, ensuring compliance with all procedural requirements and delivering excellent client care throughout.
- Legal Drafting: Prepare letters of claim, pleadings, witness statements, court documents, schedules of loss, instructions to experts, and settlement documentation.
- Evidence Gathering: Liaise with surveyors, medical experts, local authorities, housing associations, and other third parties to obtain evidence, assess liability, and progress claims efficiently.
- Litigation & Negotiation: Conduct settlement negotiations, manage litigated matters, prepare trial bundles where required, and work proactively to achieve the best outcomes for clients.
The Individual:
- Applications are welcomed from Legal Assistants, Paralegals, Fee Earners, Litigation Executives, Chartered Legal Executives and Solicitors.
- Previous experience within Housing Disrepair is highly desirable.
- Candidates with experience in claimant litigation or wider civil litigation who are looking to specialise will also be considered.
- Confident managing your own workload, with the level of autonomy dependent upon your experience.
- Strong drafting, organisational and communication skills.
- Familiarity with the Civil Procedure Rules and case management systems such as Proclaim would be advantageous.
- A proactive, client-focused approach with excellent attention to detail.
