The Role

As a Family Solicitor or Family Fee Earner, you will manage your own caseload from initial instruction through to conclusion, providing clear, practical and empathetic advice throughout each matter. The caseload can be entirely private family law or a combination of private and legal aid family matters, depending on your experience and preference.

Your caseload may include:

  • Divorce and separation
  • Financial remedy proceedings
  • Children Act matters and child arrangements
  • Domestic abuse and injunction applications
  • Cohabitation disputes
  • Pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements
  • General family law advice
  • Legal Aid family matters (if applicable)

About You

To be successful in this Family Law Solicitor position, you will ideally have:

  • Qualified Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive or experienced Family Law Fee Earner
  • Experience managing a family law caseload with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of private family law, legal aid family law, or both
  • Excellent client care and communication skills
  • A compassionate, professional approach when dealing with sensitive matters
  • Strong organisational and case management skills
  • Advocacy experience would be advantageous but is not essential
