A well-established and highly respected South Yorkshire law firm is looking to recruit a Junior Family Solicitor to join its experienced Family team in Barnsley.

This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified solicitor or someone with up to around 3 years' PQE who is looking to develop their career alongside highly experienced family lawyers within a supportive and collaborative environment.

The firm has been serving individuals, families and businesses across South Yorkshire for more than 50 years and has built a strong reputation for providing practical, compassionate legal advice with a genuinely personal approach. The firm's Family Department is recognised for its expertise across a broad range of family matters and prides itself on delivering outstanding client care.

The Role

You'll work closely with experienced members of the Family team, assisting with and managing your own caseload of private family matters, including:

  • Divorce and separation
  • Financial remedy matters
  • Private children disputes
  • Cohabitation and unmarried couples
  • Domestic abuse applications
  • General family law advice

You'll receive ongoing supervision and mentoring, giving you the opportunity to build confidence, develop your technical skills and progress your career within a well-established department.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • c. NQ – 3 years' PQE in Family Law
  • Experience handling or assisting with private family matters during training or post-qualification
  • Excellent client care and communication skills
  • A compassionate and empathetic approach
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • A genuine desire to build a long-term career in family law
