Risk Lawyer – Regulatory & Governance

I’m currently working with a leading national law firm looking to hire an experienced Risk Lawyer into its established Risk & Compliance function. It’s a broad advisory role covering partnership governance, client terms, professional regulation and wider commercial risk.
The Role
- SRA Standards & Regulations, Principles and Codes of Conduct, alongside wider professional regulatory matters
- Client engagement terms, Outside Counsel Guidelines, panel terms and framework agreements
- Supplier agreements and other commercial documentation
- Firm-wide policies and procedures
- Strategic and operational risk matters
- Regulatory queries and engagement with relevant professional bodies
About you
You’ll be comfortable advising lawyers, partners and senior stakeholders on regulatory and wider risk matters, with a good understanding of the SRA Standards & Regulations and the practical issues that come with applying them within a law firm.
- Qualified Solicitor with 3+ years’ PQE
- Previous law firm risk management experience
- Strong understanding of SRA regulation and professional conduct
- Experience advising on contractual arrangements within a law firm environment
- Commercially minded and comfortable working with senior stakeholders
- Able to manage competing priorities and give practical, solutions-focused advice
