This national full-service firm is adding a corporate tax solicitor to its Manchester team, which sits alongside a busy and growing corporate practice in the city.

The work goes well beyond deal support. You'll give tax input on the firm's corporate transactions, from M&A and disposals to management buyouts, demergers and group restructurings. Alongside that, there is a steady flow of standalone planning and compliance advice for companies, partnerships and individuals, covering both UK and international tax.

Real estate tax is a real strand of the practice too. That means SDLT reliefs, VAT on commercial property and structuring joint ventures for investors and developers, working closely with the property and planning lawyers on each deal. Share schemes and international tax planning also sit within the team, so there is room to build a niche of your own.

The client base is broad, taking in owner-managed and family businesses, high-growth companies, property investors and developers. You'll also work closely with the private client team on the personal tax affairs of business owners, covering inheritance tax, capital gains tax and income tax, so you see the whole client rather than just the company.

Partners are hands-on and close to the detail, and you'll be working directly alongside them rather than several layers removed.
