Are you a Family Solicitor looking for a genuinely varied private family caseload, alongside the opportunity to take on more responsibility within a growing team? A growing national law firm is looking for an experienced Family Solicitor to join its established Solihull office. This is a broad Family role covering everything from divorce and complex financial matters through to children work and nuptial agreements, with the opportunity to support junior lawyers and contribute to the continued development of the department.
The Firm: This is a growing national law firm with offices across the UK and an established presence in Solihull. The Solihull office has longstanding roots in the local market, while being part of the wider firm gives its lawyers access to a broader national network, additional resources and opportunities for cross-referral between practice areas. The Family team is continuing to grow, making this a good time to join for someone who wants to have an influence within the department rather than simply inherit another caseload.
The Role: You'll independently manage a broad Family caseload covering both contentious and non-contentious matters, including:
- Divorce and separation
- Financial remedy proceedings, including complex financial matters
- Private children and child arrangement matters
- Cohabitation disputes
- Pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements
- Negotiation, mediation and alternative dispute resolution
- Advocacy and attending court hearings where required
Alongside your own caseload, you'll support and mentor more junior members of the team and contribute to the day-to-day development of the department. You'll also have the opportunity to become involved in networking, business development and building relationships within the local professional community.
You: You'll be a qualified Family Solicitor with at least 3 years' PQE and experience managing your own broad Family caseload. You'll need experience across both financial and children matters and be confident advising clients independently from initial instruction through to resolution. Experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers would be useful, but isn't essential. Resolution membership would also be welcomed, although the firm is equally open to someone willing to obtain it. Above all, you'll be a confident and personable Family lawyer who enjoys having ownership of their work and wants to play a visible role within a growing department.
Why Consider It? Genuinely broad Family caseload rather than a narrow specialism, complex financial and children work, opportunity to supervise and mentor junior colleagues, scope to play a meaningful role in the continued growth of the department, 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays.
If you're looking for a Family role where you can retain a broad practice while taking the next step in terms of responsibility and influence, could this be the right opportunity? For further information or a confidential conversation, please get in touch.
