- Hybrid (3 days in office)
I’m working with a law firm in Gloucester looking for a Compliance Manager to succeed their current manager, who plans to retire next year.
This is a standalone role covering risk, regulatory compliance, anti-money laundering and data protection across the group.
Working directly with the Managing Directors, you’ll be the main point of contact for compliance advice, with scope to improve processes and shape how the function operates.
The Role?
- Lead compliance with SRA regulations and maintain effective policies, procedures and controls.
- Act as MLRO, overseeing AML compliance, risk assessments, suspicious activity reporting and financial crime escalations.
- Manage GDPR, data protection and information governance requirements.
- Conduct compliance audits, file reviews and quality assurance checks.
- Oversee complaints handling and identify improvements.
- Coordinate professional indemnity insurance renewals and associated risk matters.
- Support CQS accreditation, lender panel requirements and corporate governance.
- Deliver practical compliance training and report key risks to senior leadership
About You?
- You’ll bring experience acting as an MLRO, alongside broader compliance or risk management experience gained within legal services or financial services
- You’ll be comfortable making independent decisions, handling complex escalations and advising senior stakeholders.
Experience owning compliance frameworks, developing policies, conducting audits and delivering training will be particularly relevant
- Previous law firm and SRA compliance experience would be valuable, but candidates from FCA-regulated financial services businesses with strong transferable experience are also encouraged to apply.
You do not need to be a qualified solicitor.

- A visible role with direct access to senior leadership
- A supportive culture and the opportunity to shape the compliance function
