Are you an experienced Private Client Solicitor looking for more complex work, greater exposure to high-net-worth clients and the platform of a national firm while remaining part of a growing Birmingham team? This is an opportunity to join a highly regarded Private Client practice advising high-net-worth individuals, families, business owners and agricultural clients on sophisticated estate and succession planning matters.

The Firm

A national law firm with a particularly strong reputation for advising businesses, entrepreneurs, landowners, farmers, landed estates and private individuals. The Private Client practice is recognised by the Legal 500 and combines traditional Private Client expertise with the firm's wider strengths in agriculture, landed estates and owner-managed businesses. This creates particularly interesting work where personal wealth, businesses, property and succession planning overlap. The Birmingham office is already home to an established Private Client team and forms part of the firm's continued growth in the city. The firm also supports hybrid/agile working where appropriate, combining time in the Birmingham office with working from home.

The Role

Joining as a Senior Associate, you'll manage your own high-quality Private Client caseload while becoming a senior member of the Birmingham team. Your work will include:

  • Complex wills and estate planning
  • Trust creation and administration
  • Inheritance tax and succession planning
  • Probate and estate administration
  • Lasting Powers of Attorney
  • Advising high-net-worth individuals and families
  • Working with business owners and agricultural clients on succession and wealth planning
  • Building and maintaining relationships with clients and professional referrers
  • Contributing to business development and the continued growth of the Birmingham Private Client practice

The breadth of the firm's client base means you'll have the opportunity to deal with matters where private wealth, family businesses, land and succession planning intersect, rather than simply handling a volume caseload of straightforward wills and probate.

You

You'll be an experienced Private Client Solicitor with the technical ability to independently manage a varied and often complex caseload. You'll ideally have experience advising high-net-worth individuals, families or business owners and be confident dealing with wills, trusts, estate planning and estate administration. You'll also be comfortable developing long-term client relationships and contributing to business development at Senior Associate level. Experience involving agricultural or landed estate clients would be useful, but isn't essential if you have a strong broader Private Client background.

Why Consider It?

  • Hybrid/agile working
  • Senior Associate position within an established national Private Client practice
  • Legal 500-recognised West Midlands team
  • Exposure to HNW individuals, business owners, agricultural clients and landed estates
  • Opportunity to help develop a growing Birmingham Private Client offering

If you've reached the point where you want more sophisticated Private Client work and the opportunity to build your profile within a growing Birmingham team, could this be the right next move? For further information or a confidential conversation about the opportunity, please get in touch.
