You'll play a key role in supporting a portfolio of leading energy and utilities clients, managing your own caseload of English law acquisition transactions from instruction through to completion. The work is varied and interesting, with a particular focus on acquisitions and leases of substations, radio sites and similar infrastructure, together with negotiating wayleaves, easements and deeds of variation.
From the outset, you'll liaise directly with clients, taking instructions and building strong working relationships while progressing matters efficiently and keeping them updated throughout the transaction. Your responsibilities will include:
- Drafting and negotiating a range of acquisition documentation
- Carrying out title reviews
- Working closely with counterparties to achieve the best possible outcome
- Overseeing the completion process, dealing with post‑completion registrations, filings and reporting requirements
- Ensuring every transaction is concluded accurately and on time
- Assisting with opening new files and preparing initial engagement documentation
- Ensuring compliance with anti‑money laundering requirements
- Making full use of data rooms and online transaction trackers to manage matters effectively
