A well-established and highly regarded law firm is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Legal Cashier to join its busy Finance team based in Thame, Oxfordshire.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Legal Cashier looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive and collaborative environment.
Working closely with the Head Cashier, Finance Team Manager and wider finance function, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the firm's accounts department while maintaining full compliance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules.
The Role
- Supporting the Head Cashier and Finance Team Manager with the day-to-day running of the finance department.
- Processing client and office account payments and receipts.
- Completing daily bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Reconciling control accounts and investigating discrepancies.
- Providing guidance and support to junior members of the finance team.
- Resolving complex internal finance queries.
- Ensuring files, ledgers and financial processes remain fully compliant with the Solicitors Accounts Rules.
- Assisting with continuous improvements to finance systems and processes where appropriate.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have
- A minimum of 4 years' experience working within a legal finance or Legal Cashier position.
- Strong working knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules.
- Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
- The ability to prioritise a varied workload and perform well in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
Desirable experience includes
- ILFM Diploma (or willingness to study towards the qualification with support).
- Experience using legal accounting systems.
- Previous experience with SOS Practice Manager.
- Knowledge of Visualfiles CMS.
- Experience supporting finance system improvements or implementations.
