Legal Cashier

Taunton, Somerset | Hours Negotiable | Salary DOE

A well-established and highly regarded law firm is looking to recruit an experienced Legal Cashier to join its friendly and supportive finance team based in Taunton.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing firm where you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the accounts function while maintaining full compliance with the SRA Accounts Rules. The Role

  • Processing client and office account transactions
  • Managing bank reconciliations and ensuring financial records remain accurate
  • Maintaining client and office ledgers
  • Raising bills and monitoring outstanding payments
  • Supporting month-end and year-end accounting processes
  • Preparing VAT returns
  • Ensuring compliance with the SRA Accounts Rules
  • Liaising with fee earners, colleagues, banks, auditors and other external parties
  • Identifying and reporting any potential account breaches
  • Assisting with other finance and administrative duties where required

About You

  • Previous experience working as a Legal Cashier within a law firm
  • A solid understanding of SRA Accounts Rules
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Experience using legal accounts software
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • The ability to manage a varied workload and work collaboratively within a busy team
  • A professional and confidential approach to handling financial information
