Are you an experienced Legal Cashier looking to join a busy and growing legal team? We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organised professional to support the day-to-day financial operations of a fast-paced law firm. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong legal accounts experience who enjoys working collaboratively, maintaining accuracy under pressure, and ensuring compliance with SRA Accounts Rules.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing bills and associated schedules
- Managing daily ledger postings to both Client and Office accounts
- Preparing monthly bank reconciliations
- Producing monthly financial reports for fee earners
- Credit control and management of outstanding balances
- Processing purchase ledger invoices and payments
- Posting and reconciling HM Land Registry, HMCTS and credit card transactions
- Processing daily payments and transfers via online banking systems
- Working closely with fee earners to maintain accurate matter balances
- Processing and reconciling search provider invoices
- Assisting management with lock-up and debt management processes
- Daily itemisation of workflow and charges
- Taking and reconciling debit and credit card payments
- Processing Stamp Duty payments
- Supporting the Finance Manager with general accounts administration
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience working as a Legal Cashier
- A solid understanding of Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules
- Experience using legal practice management systems (Tikit experience is advantageous but not essential)
- Strong Microsoft Excel and online banking skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- The ability to prioritise workloads and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- A professional and confidential approach to handling financial information
- A positive attitude and willingness to undertake additional training where required
