We’re working with a brilliant international law firm to appoint a Senior Conflicts Advisor on a 6‑month FTC, supporting a high‑performing global Risk & Compliance function during a period of sustained activity. This is a senior, hands‑on role suited to an experienced conflicts professional or qualified lawyer who is comfortable operating at partner level and balancing regulatory risk with commercial outcomes.

The Role?

  • Managing complex conflicts of interest across new clients, matters and lateral hires, acting as a trusted advisor to partners and senior stakeholders.
  • Supporting business acceptance decisions that align with both regulatory obligations and strategic growth objectives.
  • Leading and overseeing complex conflicts assessments for new matters, clients and hires.
  • Advising partners on conflicts risk, confidentiality, disclosure and mitigation strategies.
  • Balancing regulatory compliance with commercial priorities and client relationships.
  • Acting as a senior escalation point within the conflicts team.
  • Supporting information barriers, consent processes and ethical walls.
  • Contributing to policy development, systems improvement and global risk projects.
  • Mentoring junior team members and supporting training initiatives.
  • Working closely with Risk, Compliance, BD and international offices on cross‑jurisdictional matters.

About you?

  • Qualified solicitor or a senior conflicts professional.
  • Strong experience in conflicts, risk or compliance within a large international law firm (Specific US Experience).
  • Excellent understanding of conflicts of interest rules and professional conduct obligations.
  • Commercially minded, with the ability to give pragmatic, business‑focused advice.
  • Confident engaging with partners and senior stakeholders.
  • Comfortable managing high‑risk, high‑value conflicts matters independently.
  • Experience with conflicts systems such as Intapp Open or similar is highly desirable.
